Terms and Coaching Policy

These terms apply to themissingcipher.com, the reader resources, and coaching purchased through the site. The site is run by QUILL&COIN LLC ("Quill & Coin," "we," or "us"), a New Jersey company owned by Michelle Brenner. By using the site, you agree to these terms.

Reader codes and resources

The reader code in The Missing Cipher unlocks the worksheets, AI skills, and other reader resources. They're for your personal use and for use within your own team at work. Please don't post the code or the resources publicly, resell them, or share them in bulk. We may change the code or remove access if it's being shared publicly.

The book, worksheets, skills, and site content belong to Michelle Brenner and Quill & Coin, or to their publisher, Packt. You're welcome to fill in, print, and adapt worksheets for your own work.

Accounts

You're responsible for keeping your login secure and for activity on your account. Give accurate information when you sign up, and let us know if you think someone else is using your account. We may suspend accounts that are used to abuse the site or other people.

Coaching policy

Coaching is one-on-one career and technical coaching with Michelle Brenner. Prices are listed in US dollars on the coaching page and paid through Stripe when you buy.

Intro call credit

What you pay for the 30-minute intro call is credited once toward your next hour, interview special, or package, and applied automatically at checkout.

Refunds

You can request a refund for any coaching time you haven't used yet. For a package, we refund the unused hours at the package's hourly rate. Time you've already used isn't refundable. To request a refund, email hello@themissingcipher.com and we'll process it to your original payment method, usually within 10 business days.

Rescheduling

• If you reschedule more than 24 hours before your session, there's no charge.
• If you reschedule within 24 hours of your session, there's a fee of 10% of that session's price. For a package, that's 10% of the package's hourly rate for the session.
• If Michelle reschedules within 24 hours of your session, you get 10% off that session's price, refunded to your original payment method or credited toward your next session, whichever you prefer. If she reschedules with more notice, there's no change in price.
• If you miss a session without notice, it counts as used, and what you paid for it isn't refunded. For a package, the session's hours are used up.

What coaching is and isn't

Coaching is advice and practice based on Michelle's experience. It isn't legal, financial, or mental health advice, and we can't guarantee a particular job offer, promotion, or other outcome.

Some links to books and stores are affiliate links, so we may earn a small commission if you buy something, at no extra cost to you. As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases. Purchases from other stores are between you and that store.

Using the site

Please don't try to break into accounts or protected pages, overload the site, scrape it in bulk, or use it to send spam or anything unlawful.

Disclaimers

The site, book resources, and AI skills are provided as is. We work hard to keep them accurate and useful, but we don't promise they're error free or right for every situation, and you're responsible for how you use them, including any AI tools you run with our skills. Links to other sites are provided for convenience, and we aren't responsible for their content.

Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, Quill & Coin and Michelle Brenner aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from use of the site or coaching, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey, United States.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We'll change the date at the top, and changes apply from that date. Coaching you've already bought keeps the refund and rescheduling terms in place when you bought it.
